September 27th - vs. Phillies

My last game of the year. Can I go 15-8? 23 games this year! Not bad.

September 20th - vs. Astros

One of those rare games where everything went right. The Brewers won 6-0 and got within one game of .500.

The next day the Brewers fired Cecil Cooper as manager. My record runs to 14-8 (if only I could go to every game!!)

Sept 6th - vs. San Francisco Giants

Christine and I took the kids to the game today. I got to see my first triple play. The other storyline was the solo homer that Prince hit in the bottom of the 12th to send the fans home happy. The Crew won 2-1 and I ran my record to 13-8 on the year.

Sept 4th - vs. Giants

A heartbreaking loss 3-2. Peter and I attended and saw Cameron miss a ball hit right to him. Ugh. My record drops to 12-8 with only a few games left this season.

August 30th - vs. Pirates

The kids got a Suppan bobblehead and the Brewers won 4-1 running my record to 12-7. A sweep of the Pirates is nice...but probably too little too late.

August 16th - with Dan - vs. Astros

A Prince Fielder warning track shot was pretty exciting but we weren't able to pull it out. My record now stands at 11-7.

August 15th - Softball Team Game - vs. Astros

Drew joined me for a game with the softball team for the first time. We cooked out and got to see a Brewer win (6-2) - and Mike Burns got the win!!

My record now stands at 11-6 but slowly the season is slipping away.

August 12th - San Diego Padres

Drew and I went to the ball-game on a weeknight. The Brewers have been sliding and they really need to string together some wins.

Drew and I had the last seats in the terrace way up behind home-plate. We had a great time but unfortunately the Crew did not. While it was a fun back and forth game ultimately the Brewers lost 6-5. We did get to see Prince hit a big 2 out run scoring double that brought the Brewers to within one...but with the tying run on third in the 9th they just couldn't get it done.

This was the day in the season when Bill Hall was released and JJ hardy was sent down. It really sets up some interesting stories for 2010.

My record runs to 10-6 and the Brewers really need to put together a winning streak if they want to do anything this year.

July 24th - Braves

The Brewers didn't have much on the pitching side tonight. My record falls to 10-5 as they lose 9-4.

The Brewers had their 22nd sellout of the season...a small positive.

July 18th - at Reds! Revenge Time

Game Two was much more fun. My record goes to 10-4 as the Brewers hang on after a 2-hour rain delay. We got to be up nice and close to the players after the delay. A 5-1 victory was worth it.

July 17th - at Great American Ballpark

Paul, Erin, Drew, and I took a road-trip to Cincy to see the Reds take on the Brewers. In game one of our trip we saw the Brewers lose 4-0. A real stinker! Very little to cheer about. My record falls to 9-4 but at least I got some nice photos.

July 12th - Dodgers

MaryAnn and I went to the game and unfortunately we saw Yovai get tagged for 5 runs early. My record now falls to 9-3. MaryAnn had fun on the playground!!

July 11th - Dodgers - Fox Fest

Once a year I get together with some friends from Whitewater to watch the Crew and drink beer! my record goes to 9-2 as the Brewers win this one.

July 10th - Dodgers - Club on the Club

Christine and I went to the club on the club and had a nice meal...we left the game in the 9th with Trevor in hand to save it...unfortunately he gave up a run in the 9th and the Brewers lost it by the time we reached the car. This one was a tough one. My record falls to 8-2.

June 14th - White Sox Inter-league Game

You knew I couldn't go undefeated all season. Today the Brewers lost a close one to the White Sox 5-4. It was a back and forth game and it saw Trevor Hoffman give up his first run of the season.
Overall my record fell to 8-1.

Drew had fun with his friend Zach (and his Dad Henry) coming to the game. They did some speed pitch and some time in the batting cage.

Even after the loss the Brewers remain in 1st and open up a 3-game series vs. the Indians.

May 31st - Get out the Brooms - Reds

Today we went to the game with Nate and Ben. Drew actually got a chance to sit in the 2nd row for part of the game.

The kids played some videogames before the game starts...
The Crew got off to a fast start today in the first inning and we got to see Mike Cameron hit a home run too. On Trevor Hoffman bobblehead we got to see him come in and save the game as the Brewers win 5-2 and I run my record to 8-0 at Brewer games!

Here is a fan video of the 9th inning "Hells Bells"

May 29th - Friday Night Reds Game

The Brewers entered the game tonight in a little bit of a funk. They are only a game out of first but they haven't really been hitting the ball well. I attended the game with my brother Peter and we brought good luck to the team!
Things started out well with Prince hitting a 2-run homer in the first and Looper started out fine...but he made a mistake and the Reds tied it up in the 4th.

The game moved quickly and after only 2 hours and 15 minutes the Crew walked away with a 3-2 victory. Cory Hart hit the go-ahead homer in the 6th and Hoffman made it hold up in the 9th.

It was a nice start to the weekend and with Bush and Gallardo going on Saturday and Sunday I am feeling good. The team ends the night in a tie for first with a 28-20 record and I run my personal record to 7-0..Gotta love it!

May 25th Memorial Day vs. Cardinals

I took the kids to the game today. What a wonderful day. We got to see a real pitcher's dual. This is the kind of the game I love! Unfortunately it isn't a real great game for the kids. Carpenter and Gallardo threw O's through 8. In fact Yovani had a no-hitter into the 6th and Carpenter was throwing a perfect game into the 7th. Not much to cheer about until the 10th!

All's well that ends well as the Brewers came through in the 10th inning. Bill Hall gets the game winning hit and we all go home happy with a 1-0 win. I am now 6-0 for the season and the Brewers move into first place by themselves with a 27-18 record ahead of the Cardinals by a game.
MaryAnn ran several races with the sausages in the kids area and Drew liked the speed pitch topping out at 23 MPH.

I hope they sleep well tonight! :)

May 14th - Florida Marlins- get out the brooms

This was my annual game with Dave, Kris, and Richard. This year we picked a good one. After falling behind early Dave Bush pitched just well enough for the win. We got to see a Prince home run to put the Crew ahead for good.

It just so happened that my Dad was able to bring MaryAnn to the game too...along with Uncle Peter :)

I went up to meet MaryAnn to say "hi" and she had blue lips from the cotton candy.
We stuck around the the entire game...including "hells bells" and my record went to 5-0. Meanwhile the crew moves to 21-14 and remain tied for 1st in the NL central. They also have the best record since April 22nd...not bad!

May 8th - Friday Night vs. Cubs

The Brewers are rolling as this series opens and the Crew doesn't let down. Christine and I went with Paul and Erin to attend the game and Ryan Braun was the star.
It was a fast low-scoring game with Dave Bush on the mound but finally in the 8th inning Braun connected for a go-ahead home run and the Brewers had the opening game in the series.

We had one funny incident when Paul cheered for a deep fly ball that scored a Cubs run. A drunk Brewer fan thought he was cheering the Cubs run and started yelling at him.
We saw my personal record run to 4-0 this year.

May 3rd - Ryan Braun Bobblehead Day vs. Arizona

This was our first game of 2009 with the kids and it was quite a game. We arrived early but with a crowd of over 44,000 we were worried when the traffic was backed up as early as noon.
We received our bobbleheads and headed to our seats. We were on the field level very close to the various games for kids.
The game started out well enough with Dave Bush putting up zeros and Prince and Cameron hitting back to back home runs. The wheels came off in the 6th when Bush gave up 3 home runs.

We came back to win 4-3 and we got to hear "Hells Bells" as Trevor Hoffman came in. So for the year I am now 3-0...and things are looking up for the Crew.

April 28th - Club on the Club with Christine

We got our first chance to check out the club on the club in 2009. Christine and I attended the Pirates game and enjoyed dinner. (Christine gives me a dirty look in the photo above!)

Dave Bush started for the Crew and did fairly well. One of the story lines was that a day earlier Ryan Braun had been hit by a Pirate and he made some comments in the press. Early in the game Bush hit a Pirate - and then again in the 5th after 2 were out he hit 2 batters in a row. It came back to haunt Bush as both runners scored and the Brewers were down 5-1.

We met Paul and Erin in the cheap seats in the 5th or so - they had some free tickets from Amoco.

It had a happy ending as the Brewers came back to win 6-5 and Trevor Hoffman got his first Brewer save. After the game the Brewers had come all the way back to .500 after starting the year 3-8.

So far in 2009 the games I attended- record: 2-0

April 10th, 2009 - Brewer Opening Day

In what is becoming a tradition I took my Dad to opening day. We decided to head out plenty early because the news talked about the huge number of tailgaters. We left Eagle, WI at 10:45 am and it took us 2 full hours before we parked our car. We waited a short time before they opened the park...

We had lunch at TGIF's and then headed up to our seats. Let's just say we didn't have preimum seats...

The game started out well with the Brewers getting a run in the first on a Cub error and a Ryan Braun single. Brandon Looper made his Brewer debut and while he wasn't "lights out" he did well enough through 5 innings. After the 5th the Cubs took the lead 3-2 and it didn't look good for the crew.

After a quick out the Brewers put a man on for Rickie Weeks and he scorched a ball over Soriano in left. (why has he playing in with a lead in the 9th?)

A few moments later Rickie scored the winning run on a ground ball by Braun.

I have a good feeling about this team. Logic says that they should be an 85 win team and finishing a distant 2nd to the Cubs...but I just have this feeling. It was also nice to have a game vs. the Cubs that was mostly Brewer fans.

I hope 2009 is as successful as 2008!!
